Chapter 1: How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others

Scorpio Rising:

You are very strong-willed and proud, but intensely private
and not easy to know well. Behind your quiet exterior lies a
great deal of emotional depth, sensitivity, complexity, and also
fierce determination. When you want something you go after it
rather quietly but insistently and wholeheartedly - and you
usually get it.

You are not a person who lives lightly or superficially.
You want to live passionately and intensely and are not averse
to challenge, danger, or to facing the darker side of life -
human pain and struggle. You function well in crisis situations
and often seek them out, for you enjoy the feeling of living at
full capacity.

You are very intuitive about other people and especially
about their unspoken feelings and hidden motives. You usually
have strong, immediate gut reactions, either positive or
negative, which prove to be correct. You approach life very
instinctively and are not always fully conscious of why you feel
or act as you do. You also have a very strong affinity with
animals - an acute sensitivity and a nonverbal kind of rapport
with them.

In relation to others, you are rather cautious, sometimes
even suspicious, until you get to know and trust them - and
trust doesn't come easily to you. When you commit yourself
emotionally to someone, be it friend or lover, you are intensely
loyal and devoted to them and you also expect the same kind of
unwavering, undying loyalty in return. If you are ever betrayed
by someone you care deeply for, you are capable of hating and
retaliating with as much fervor as you once loved. Nothing is
done halfway. In fact, you are intensely involved and often
jealously attached to whatever you care about, be it person,
idea, or cause. There is definitely a streak of emotional
fanaticism in you.

Because of your natural reserve, others may see you as
something of an enigma. You are quite self-protective and often
defensive. You are also very magnetic, especially to members of
the opposite sex.

Chapter 2: The Inner You: Your Real Motivation

Sun in Aries:

You are a person who thrives on challenge, and you often
feel that you must battle your way through life, depending upon
no one and nothing but your own strength, intelligence, and
courage. You believe in being totally honest, true to oneself
and one's own vision and convictions, even if that means
standing alone. Honesty, integrity, personal honor, and
authenticity are your gods, and you have no sympathy for
weakness of character in others.

You crave the freedom to do things in your own way, and you
work very well independently. Cooperating with others or
carrying out another's will is not your style. You like to be
the chief -or to go it alone.

You love action and if others are settling down into a nice,
comfortable little rut, then you are always ready to stir things
up, do something new, make changes, bring in some fresh blood.
Routine and sameness are like death to you. You are not afraid
of trying something that's never been done before, and even
though you may be seen as a fool sometimes, you also discover,
invent, and initiate things that others will later emulate.
Taking risks and following your own star are the breath of life
for you, and you wilt (or get very frustrated and angry) if you
cannot do this.

You are spontaneous, impulsive, direct, enthusiastic, and
assertive. You believe in the power of positive thinking and
positive action, and you think of yourself as a strong person
-even invincible. You hate being ill or in any way in a position
of dependency. Accepting your own human limitations and
emotional needs is often difficult for you.

You are basically aggressive in your attitudes and have less
facility in the receptive arts of relating to others, picking up
subtle messages and nuances, listening, nurturing, and
harmonizing. Often you are so fired up about your own projects
or goals that you inadvertently run over or ignore other
people's feelings and interests. Being receptive and
appreciative of others' contributions, ideas, and feelings would
go a long way in improving your relationships. Your impatience
to get on with things causes you to be rather insensitive, and
to therefore alienate others unnecessarily. You also frequently
try to accomplish your ends by using anger or some version of a
temper tantrum. You would gain much by learning to slow down,
relax, and just let things be sometimes, but your energetic,
restless nature rarely allows you to do this.

Sun Opposition Neptune:

You are extremely sensitive and imaginative, and you can get
lost in your dreams, fantasies, and visions. You are attracted
to artistic and creative pursuits, the world of color, beauty,
and emotion. You are also drawn to mysticism and have deep
spiritual aspirations and yearnings. Gentle and peace-loving,
you may lack the will and competitive spirit needed to make your
way in the world. You are often impractical and may seek to
avoid or escape the hard realities of life.

Sun Trine Pluto:

You have a deep belief in your own power and your ability to
survive any change and to emerge victoriously from any
difficulty. You have tremendous inner resources and strength.
Intense, strong willed, and zealous, you pursue your desires and
goals with complete dedication and singleness of purpose, and
you may be somewhat compulsive, even fanatical at times. You
like to live intensely and have no respect for people who are
weak, who avoid confronting life and their own destiny.

Sun Sextile Uranus:

The unusual and unorthodox appeal to you, and you do not
allow tradition, convention, or other people's expectations
dictate how you are going to live your life. You crave freedom,
adventure, excitement, and discovery, and are not afraid of
change. You possess inventive and creative genius.

Chapter 3: Mental Interests and Abilities

Mercury in Aries:

Outspoken and direct, you are always eager to express your
ideas and opinions and don't mind opposing the consensus and
stirring up a little controversy. You have fresh, original ideas
and much enthusiasm for anything new and untried, but once the
novelty has worn off, you are interested in another new idea or
project. You never seem to have enough time to do all you want
to. You are very honest, speak decisively and convincingly about
things you believe in, and are unable to pretend to agree with
someone if you honestly don't. You may be somewhat deficient in
tact.

Mercury Trine Jupiter:

You have an ongoing interest in learning and expanding your
mental horizons. You enjoy traveling, philosophical discussions,
and exchanging ideas with those of different experiences and
viewpoints. Broad-minded and fair, you are well-suited to law,
consulting, diplomatic relations, and also business. You learn
quickly, and can pick up on a new idea or concept with relative
ease.

Chapter 4: Emotions: Moods, Feelings, Romance

Moon in Taurus:

Even tempered and peace loving, you are not easily ruffled
and are rarely given to emotional displays. You have a calming
effect on more high-strung or volatile people, and an emotional
steadiness that others find soothing. Though gentle and not
easily provoked, you are tremendously stubborn and will resist
any change which requires an emotional adjustment, such as
changes in your home life or marriage.

You seek security and loyalty in love, are extremely devoted
to your loved ones, and provide a warm, nurturing atmosphere for
them. However, you tend to cling and seek to keep others from
changing.

A great deal of physical affection, closeness, and touching
is essential to your well-being, and you have a tendency to
overindulge in sensual comforts and pleasures. At times you
substitute food for emotional comfort and love.

Moon Square Jupiter:

You have a buoyant, cheerful disposition and reach out to
others in a warm, open, friendly way. Your emotional generosity
and lack of pettiness is well known among your circle of
friends, and people often seek you out for help, sympathy, or
advice. You are always willing to overlook others' faults, and
you sometimes overdo your charitableness.

Moon Sextile Venus:

You feel that little, daily acts of caring and
thoughtfulness are essential to the happiness and success of a
relationship and you know how to make others feel accepted,
loved, and cherished. You enjoy good relationships with women.

Venus in Pisces:

Tremendously softhearted and sympathetic, you give very
selflessly and devotedly to those you love and often allow
others to become overly dependent upon you. More compassionate
than passionate, you may become romantically involved with
someone because they need love and you want to help them, rather
than out of mutual pleasure or attraction.

You are drawn to sensitive, imaginative, gentle souls
-poets, musicians, dreamers - or to someone you feel you can
have a deep spiritual relationship with. You idealize love and
have a very beautiful, romantic vision of what love can be.

Chapter 5: Drive and Ambition: How You Achieve Your Goals

Mars in Gemini:

You are a "busy bee" - energetic, restless, and forever on
the go. Your active mind is always buzzing with ideas and you
find it difficult sometimes to relax, slow down, or take time to
reflect and replenish yourself. You tend to live on nervous
energy. You can accomplish much in short bursts but projects
that require long-term commitment, stamina, and steady,
persistent effort are not easy for you. You often scatter your
energies into so many directions and activities at once that you
cannot finish or follow through on some of them. You need
variety, change, and mental challenges.

You have a sharp and eager mind, and you enjoy games and
competitions that have a mental component. You like to match
wits with someone else.

You often achieve your desires by your verbal skill, your
ability to speak clearly, vigorously, and convincingly for what
you want. Your drive and energy is more mental than physical.
You use your wit, intelligence, communication skills, social
sophistication, and awareness to achieve your goals.

Mars Square Neptune:

Ordinary life often seems drab and uninteresting to you and
you must have something that stirs your imagination, some vision
or ideal or dream to motivate you. You have a strong urge to act
out your fantasies or to live your dream, and you will DO things
that others only talk about or dream about. Artistic creation,
drama, or other areas in which you can express yourself
imaginatively are excellent for you.

Work that serves only your own narrow personal interests
does not satisfy you. You may lack the competitive edge, the
fighting spirit, the me-first attitude that is often required
for material advancement and success. You also tend to either
overestimate or underestimate your own power and abilities.

Chapter 6: Other Influences

Jupiter in Leo:

You cannot tolerate smallness or pettiness in any form, and
you have a tendency to exaggerate. Also, you have a wonderful
sense of drama! You must live boldly and heroically. Otherwise
you feel you are simply existing and wasting your talents.

The desire for personal recognition - or even Fame - and a
need to do something you feel really proud of, motivate you
strongly. You have an unusual capacity for fun and playfulness
also.

Jupiter Sextile Saturn:

You have the patience and the stamina to realize your
visions and bring them down to earth, a fine balance between
hard work and realism, and a positive, hopeful spirit. You grow
through following systems and plans, and taking one step at a
time. Overnight success or instant enlightenment is not what you
aim for. Your patient, well-balanced approach gives you
credibility with many different types of people, and you are apt
to gain an excellent reputation for being able to do big things
without overreaching or becoming pretentious.

Saturn in Gemini:

You doubt your own intelligence and mental capacities, and
you may work very hard at studies in order to compensate for
this. You are often overly serious and disinterested in light or
superficial conversation. Spontaneous communication, social
give-and-take, and making small talk are likely to be difficult
for you.

Uranus in Gemini:

You are part of a 7 year group of people who are progressive
and creative thinkers. Academic achievement is high and academic
standards are higher with your age group than with others. You
are a curious and inquisitive bunch, and many discoveries and

clever insights are brought forth from your age group. The love
of learning never dies with your age group, and your curiosity
and inquisitiveness does not wane in later life, as is common
with others.

Uranus Trine Neptune:

You were also born during a period that lasted approximately
5 years and is characterized by an unusually high degree of
imagination, intuition, and sensitivity. You are part of a group
of people who are very inspired. Your age group is rather
zealous and enthusiastically rallies behind new visions and
ideals for society. You succeed in bringing a breath of fresh
air into the arts and religions, and you inspire new ideals and
goals for nations as well. You are part of a creative group that
can do much to inspire a fresh vision and renewed hope for
others.

Uranus Sextile Pluto:

You belong to a group of people who will be the positive
reformers and innovators in society. Peaceful methods and new
techniques which do not create too much disruption, but which
bring about fundamental and profound changes in society, will be
your contribution.

Neptune in Libra:

You are part of a 14 year group of people who have a very
idealistic sense of brotherhood and universal cooperation,
which, among other things, fostered the peace and freedom
movement. Your age group is also interested in the spiritual
philosophy and ideals of other cultures, and is not at all
dogmatic in its approach to religion. You incorporate the
approaches of other religions. Your age group tends to have an
eclectic approach to religion, utilizing elements from many
religious perspectives (e.g. Eastern and Western), and finds it
difficult to follow traditionally defined religious practices.

A gullibility and an unwillingness to be decisive and
judgmental inclines your age group to be easily deceived, and
consequently many of the well-intended ideals and goals are
frustrated by a lack of clear purpose and direction.

Neptune Sextile Pluto:

The entire generation to which you belong has tremendous
opportunities for spiritual rebirth and awakening. This will not
be forced upon you or precipitated by unavoidable events, rather
it comes from an inner yearning and a natural propensity to seek
the depths.

Pluto in Leo:

You are part of a 20 year period that is often referred to
as the "ME" generation, a generation that has a very proud and
self-reliant attitude. You are a generation that is very
concerned with self-development and personal integrity. Women's
rights and minority rights are issues that your generation has
fostered and they reflect your concern with individual respect,

integrity, and honor. Your age group has a deeply felt sense
that each person has an equal right and opportunity to fully
develop his or her inner potential.

However, your group also finds it difficult to be part of a
team and a strong egotism makes group efforts difficult; you
tend to see the individual as more important than the group. You
also defy authority and often feel that no one has the right to
tell you what to do. The strong movement to refuse drafting into
the military is one example of your age group's strong sense of
individual rights and freedom.

Your age group has popularized the idea of self-development,
and has contributed a great deal to the development of
individual potential as well as human rights. However, there is
also a tendency to be rather self-centered; others may wonder
how you can spend so much time developing yourselves and have so
little time to contribute to your families!

The interest in personal development also sometimes
manifests as a fascination with particular individuals and a
great deal of hero worship. Every generation, of course, has
lots of idols, but your generation is particularly prone to
needing a specific individual to represent and embody an idea or
feeling, and to serve as a focal point of interest. Perhaps the
most extreme example of this is the concept of the guru that was
popularized by your age group.
